Diclazepam

Diclazepam is a benzodiazepine that is used in the treatment of anxiety and insomnia. It has a rapid onset of action, with therapeutic effects appearing within 30 minutes after administration. Diclazepam is an acidic drug that is soluble in hydrochloric acid and trifluoroacetic acid. It can be administered intravenously or orally. Diclazepam is metabolized by the liver, where it undergoes oxidative transformations, including dealkylation, hydroxylation, and glucuronidation to form diazepam and nordiazepam metabolites. The pharmacokinetic properties of diclazepam are similar to those of lorazepam. A sensitive analytical method has been developed for the determination of diclazepam in human serum using LC-MS/MS.
